Dr. h.c. Gerhard Kaiser is the Founder and Chairman of Naxxar Energy Group. He brings nearly four decades of international leadership experience spanning corporate law, investment advisory, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, and renewable energy development.
Throughout his career, Dr. Kaiser has advised businesses, investors and financial institutions on complex cross-border transactions, corporate restructurings and strategic growth initiatives. Recognized as an expert in international M&A and corporate law, he served as Partner and regional lead with several leading global law firms, advising clients on sophisticated domestic and international transactions across multiple jurisdictions.
After qualifying as a lawyer in 1984 and gaining admission to the bar, Dr. Kaiser built a distinguished legal career focused on corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border transactions and corporate restructuring. He later founded and successfully developed his own legal practice, which was subsequently acquired by the international law firm Simmons & Simmons, marking an important milestone in his professional career. After leaving Simmons & Simmons, Dr. Kaiser served as country managing partner Germany of the US law firm Dechert
Building on his legal and transactional expertise, Dr. Kaiser transitioned into investment advisory, where he advised institutional clients on investment opportunities across the real estate and renewable energy sectors. His ability to combine legal, financial and commercial perspectives has enabled him to guide complex investment decisions while creating long-term value for stakeholders.
Driven by a long-standing entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for the energy transition, Dr. Kaiser entered the Romanian renewable energy market in 2018. Recognizing the significant opportunities emerging across Central and Eastern Europe, he founded Naxxar Energy Group in 2021 with the vision of building an independent renewable energy platform focused on the development, acquisition and long-term ownership of high-quality energy infrastructure assets.
Today, Dr. Kaiser leads Naxxar’s strategic direction, working closely with an experienced international management team to establish the company as a trusted partner in Europe’s rapidly evolving renewable energy sector.
