Andrea Brentan is Vice Chairman of Naxxar Energy Group and a member of the Executive Management Team. He is an internationally respected energy executive with more than four decades of leadership experience across the utilities, renewable energy, infrastructure, engineering and investment sectors. Throughout his career, he has held senior executive, board and advisory positions with some of Europe’s leading energy companies, combining operational leadership with strategic governance and international business development.
Widely recognized for his expertise in energy sector leadership, corporate governance and strategic advisory, Andrea has built a distinguished career leading large-scale organizations through periods of growth, transformation and international expansion. His experience spans the full energy value chain, including utility operations, renewable energy development, engineering and construction, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and major infrastructure delivery.
Andrea previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Endesa, one of Europe’s largest integrated energy companies and the leading utility across Spain and Latin America. During his tenure, he played a key role in strengthening the company’s market position while navigating the evolving European energy landscape. Earlier in his career, he contributed significantly to Enel’s international growth strategy, helping establish and expand Enel Green Power as Head of International Development and supporting the company’s transition into one of the world’s leading renewable energy businesses.
Following his executive career, Andrea transitioned into strategic advisory and corporate governance, serving as Non-Executive Chairman, board member and Senior Advisor to international corporations, infrastructure platforms and private equity firms. For more than a decade, he has advised investors and management teams on corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, business development, financing, engineering, procurement, construction and the delivery of complex energy and infrastructure projects.
In addition to his corporate leadership, Andrea has demonstrated a strong entrepreneurial mindset through the creation of new ventures and by supporting organizations during periods of transformation and expansion. His governance experience extends across publicly listed companies, privately held businesses and investment-backed organizations operating in engineering, electromechanical systems, infrastructure and energy markets.
Andrea has also served on the boards of educational, cultural and charitable organizations, reflecting his belief that responsible leadership extends beyond commercial success to include long-term contributions to society and community development.
