Dr. Michal Michalski is the Chief Executive Officer of Naxxar Energy Group. He holds a Doctorate in Economics and brings more than 29 years of international leadership experience, including senior executive roles in renewable energy, utilities, telecommunications, automotive, oil and gas, and venture capital.
Before joining Naxxar, Dr. Michalski was Executive Vice President for Central and Southern Europe at OX2, leading growth across Poland, Italy and Romania. He previously spent twelve years at Polenergia S.A., Poland’s leading privately owned integrated energy utility, where he became CEO following a successful corporate reorganisation. Under his leadership, Polenergia entered a landmark joint venture with Equinor for up to 3 GW of offshore wind in Poland, attracted Brookfield Asset Management as a major shareholder and raised €400 million of new equity.
During his five-year CEO tenure, Polenergia’s market capitalisation increased from €230 million to €1.35 billion, EBITDA grew from €44 million to €127 million, and its workforce expanded from 195 to more than 900 professionals. At Naxxar, Dr. Michalski leads the execution of the company’s strategy, focusing on disciplined growth, strategic partnerships and the development of a long-term European renewable-energy platform.
